Illumination for the new buildings of the medical facility designed as per appicable requirements to create a comfortable environment for both patients and healthcare personnel.
Short site description: The full-scale reconstruction of Federal State Endocrinology Research Center in Moscow has been going on since 2009. The new buildings for Child Endocrinology Institute with a total bed capacity of 200 have been built from the ground up. Endocrinology center received two new buildings totalling more than 40,000 sq. m.— a nine-story building with ward sections and laboratories as well as a six-story auxiliary building with a modern conference hall, an accomodation facility for the relatives of the little patients, an autonomous power plant, an underground parking, and office rooms.
Objective: Create a pleasant, calm atmosphere that will have a beneficial effect on patients' emotional well-being while accommodating the needs of healthcare personnel. The ability to control ward lighting allows patients to create a comfortable light environment for themselves. At the same time, the luminaires have to fit the design concept of a modern research, treatment, diagnostical, academic, and administrative center capable of providing world-class healthcare to children with various endocrine disorders.
Result: The design of lighting installations for both buildings is based on equipment by Lighting Technologies and conforms to all existing standards and regulations. Flourescent lighting fixtures have been used.
