Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology has the status of a research institution. The library hosts a Scientific Council, which unites prominent scientists and experts in the field of library and information sciences. The building has a total floor space of 13,780 sqm with a capacity of 770,000 books and a parking lot. Lighting Technologies supplied devices to all types of facilities. As a result, the installation of LED lighting fixtures saves over 1.5mn in maintenance costs per year, and over 5mn (one-time savings) in electricity costs. Even though the cost of LED lighting fixtures is 2mn higher, the saving in the first year is 3.5mn. Thus, the use of LEDs pays off in the first year.
