However, this difference can be basically defined as follows: lighting engineering sets itself mostly functional tasks - light must provide the necessary visual comfort and conditions for performing one or another type of human activity; lighting design also includes an emotional aspect, appealing to "applied" lighting tasks - for example, to increase the comfort of being in an office space, create the right atmosphere in a restaurant or hotel, increase sales in a hypermarket, etc.
