lighting calculation algorithm
The calculator allows you to calculate the quantity of luminaires required to meet the specified lighting demands, taking into account the overall dimensions of the room (length, width, height), as well as the safety factor and the main parameters of the reflective properties of finishing materials.
The calculation algorithm is based on the utilization factor method, which was mostly developed in the works of G. M. Knorring.
The main assumptions of the method are: the uniformity of the luminosity of the reflecting surfaces that surround the illuminated room, as well as the diffuseness of the luminosity of these surfaces and the averaging of the reflection coefficients over the reflective surfaces.
For a more accurate lighting calculation, we recommend using specialized software, such as DIALux.
