The construction of a new (third) energy-efficient ammonia unit was completed at Apatit subsidiary, Cherepovets. The project was aimed at solving one of PhosAgro's strategic tasks to increase the apatite concentrate processing within the Group and increase the production of phosphate fertilizers.
Apatit produces phosphate fertilizer, phosphate and sulfuric acids, aluminum fluoride, ammonia, carbamide, ammonium nitrate and fertilizers based on it. The Cherepovets production cluster is Europe's largest producer of phosphate fertilizers, phosphate and sulfuric acids, and one of the leading producers of NPK fertilizers, ammonia and ammonium nitrate in the Russian chemical industry.
