Kazan Arena is a universal football stadium, a multifunctional complex located in Kazan, Tatarstan. It is one of the largest stadiums in Russia, designed for 45,380 people. Opened on 14 June 2013, the stadium has been rated the highest Category 4 under UEFA stadium categories. For the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the stadium will host six official matches.

task
The task was to:- Suggest the best energy-efficient solution for lighting the area around the stadium;- Ensure the most uniform illumination around the stadium by installing lighting fixtures on eight mounted poles. The height of each is 12 meters;- Provide comfortable movement of spectators on the staircases from the outer exits of the second level of the stadium, in accordance with the illumination standards. It was also necessary to illuminate the aisles under the grandstand, according to the lighting design project.
solution
As a result, it was proposed to install high-power HB LED FLOODLIGHT spotlights to illuminate the area around the stadium. The height of installation is 12 meters, and the area adjacent to the stadium is quite large, so it was decided to install HB LED 400 with different types of light distribution curve, 12 illuminators on each pole. Nine HB LED 400 D30 5000K luminaires were installed in order to provide even illumination between supports and in the adjacent territory. Two HB LED 400 D60 5000K luminaires and one HB LED 400 D80 5000K luminaire (for most distant areas from the stadium) were used for lighting second level exits and staircases. LZ.OPL ECO LED 1200 TH 5000K luminaires were used to illuminate passageways under grandstand. The illumination fully complies with the lighting standards and design.
