The lighting system must function without interruption, as ships often go on long voyages, and then it is not possible to replace or repair equipment before returning to port. Therefore, the luminaires must ensure reliable operation throughout the entire service life of the devices in the conditions of vibrations and ship motions. Housing parts of luminaires must be resistant to corrosion in conditions of high humidity and salt fog, and electronic components must operate in a wide temperature range (from -40°C to +55°C).
   
For outdoor lighting of the ship, searchlights on a lyre with various types of optics are usually used. On open decks, in galleys, baths, lavatories (latrines), showers, in engine and boiler rooms, in holds, fish processing shops and in other rooms, ship's IP-protected lamps should be used.
  
For installation in cabins, corridors, deckhouses and utility rooms, compact built-in or surface-mounted lighting devices are used due to the limited area of ????all internal spaces of ships and vessels. A long period of stay on a ship in a confined space affects the state of health and mood, so it is important that the light does not oppress passengers and crew, but is soft and comfortable without a blinding effect.

  • uninterrupted operation throughout the entire period of operation;
  • stability of characteristics throughout the entire period of operation;
  • equipment resistance to high vibration loads;
  • Protection of body parts and electronics from environmental influences (humidity, salt fog, ultraviolet, air temperature, etc.);
  • no combustible materials in the component base.
